Mother F****** Instagram
We’ve had our Instagram account suspended three times in two weeks.
After just one week Instagram in its infinite wisdom banned our brand new account after posting our first eight images and running around the ecosystem checking out the production of other prompt-writers and artists. They made us reauthorize the phone and email address we use as well as send a weird mugshot selfy with our name, account name and a six-digit code. As much as I love being treated like a criminal for no reason, we can hope Meta can sort out their s*** one of these days. The account was reinstated. Meta contacted us and said:
Hi neo_ido,
It looks like your account was disabled by mistake. Your account has been reactivated, and you should now be able to log in. We’re sorry for any inconvenience.
If you have any issues getting back into your account, please let us know.
Thanks,
The Facebook Team
This email being generated from a noreply@ account at Facebook and there is really no way to get ahold of anyone at Meta.
One Week Later
On 9/13/22 our Instagram account was suspended yet again. Again we went through confirmation of the phone number and the email address and sent in yet another mugshot selfie.
The account was reinstated with the same email as above being the only contact.
Then, a Third Time
We thought, great, that is all over, but no! We made one post, followed a couple folks back and liked a couple images and were immediately suspended for a third time. Again with the confirmation and the selfies. And we wait.
Do You Really Want Meta/Facebook/Instagram In Your Life?
Lack of accountability and support options make Instagram a very shakey time investment. You might want to think again if you use it intensively. All your effort could be wiped away in a day for no reason. Hope you didn’t build your brand around it, or use it to drive sales. Hope you didn’t store any important family images in your account. Hope you weren’t in the middle of a product launch. Hope you didn’t need to run advertising on Meta.
Signed,
Deeply Unpleased
In the Meantime
In the meantime, feel free to follow us on Facebook and Twitter as we get them steaming ahead.
Here are a few images to hold you over:
